The race includes what may be the Lehigh Valley's youngest candidate in the primary—Chad Gleissl, a junior at Salisbury High School.

The top four vote getters on each ticket will advance to the general election. If the same four candidates are the top vote getters on both the Republican and Democratic ballots, then the election will essentially be decided in the primary barring any write-in campaigns in the fall.
