Cleanup Scheduled For Walking Purchase Park

Despite past cleanups, people keep dumping tires, mattresses, sofas in 530-acre park in Salisbury Township and Allentown.

Volunteers are being sought for another cleanup of in Salisbury Township from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. on April 30.

Despite past , people keep dumping large debris such as mattresses, tires and sofas in the The Salisbury Township board of commissioners approved last Thursday the use of four hours of a public works department operator and heavy equipment to help remove the debris during the cleanup.

Volunteers will meet at the park on Constitution Drive. From Allentown, follow Susquehanna Street and turn onto Constitution Drive. Parking is available along the road in the park. Please bring work gloves, rakes and bug spray.
