Get Rid of Old, Unwanted Prescriptions at Salisbury Police Department

Salisbury Township residents can dispose of outdated and unwanted prescription medication safely as part of the third annual national Take-Back Day project.Medications can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salisbury Township Police Department, 3000 S. Pike Ave. Police will collect prescription and over-the-counter medications including liquid products and creams in containers. Syringes will not be accepted. Officials say keeping outdated or unwanted medicines at home poses a danger to children, teens and older adults. In 2010, Lehigh County police collected almost 193 pounds of pills and capsules. In April 2011, the collection took in almost 1,008 pounds of medications.   Medications will be collected at the following sites:

• Alburtis Police Department, 260 Franklin St., Alburtis.
• Catasauqua Police Department, 118 Bridge St., Catasauqua.
• Fountain Hill Police Department, 941 Long St., Fountain Hill.
• Giant supermarket, Route 309, Coopersburg, Coopersburg Police Officerswill collect medications.
• Lower Milford Township Police Department, 7607 Chestnut Hill Road, Coopersburg.
• Macungie Police Department, 21 Locust St., Macungie.
• Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, 2930 Airport Road, Bethlehem.
• Salisbury Township Police Department, 3000 S. Pike Ave, Allentown.
• Slatington Police Department, 125 S. Walnut St., Slatington.
• South Whitehall Township Police Department, 4444 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township.
• Upper Macungie Township Municipal Building, 8330 Schantz Road, Upper Macungie Township. Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Officers will collect medications.
• Upper Saucon Township Police Department, 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley.
• Wegmans supermarket, 3900 Tilghman St., Allentown. Allentown Police Officers will collect medications.
• Weis Markets, 1220 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Emmaus Police Officers will collect medications.
• Westgate Mall, 2285 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem. Bethlehem Police will collect medications inside the main entrance off Schoenersville Road.
• Whitehall Township Police Department, 3731 Lehigh St., Whitehall.
