Licensed Firearms Now Allowed in Salisbury Parks
Salisbury commissioners change ordinance to allow licensed firearms in township parks to comply with state and federal laws.
In a move to reflect state and federal laws, the recently voted to change the township ordinance governing firearms in .
After review by township Solicitor John Ashley, wording of the ordinance was changed to comply with the Pennsylvania Uniform Firearms Act.
The changed ordinance says licensed firearms may now be carried in public township parks. However, “setting off or discharging any firearm, air rifle, air pistol, sling shot or fireworks, including sparklers” is still prohibited.

The previous wording of the ordinance did not distinguish between licensed or unlicensed firearms, and it prohibited carrying any firearms.
