Protestors Gather Outside Sen. Toomey's Office

The group gathered outside U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey's office in Salisbury Township said his policies do not favor the working class.

A group of protestors who gathered outside U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey's office Tuesday in Salisbury Township, said Toomey hasn't done enough to promote job creation, according to The Morning Call. Some in the labor-backed crowd held signs, such as one that read, "Sen. Toomey, where are the jobs?"

Jody Weinrich, a 62-year-old garment textile worker laid off in 2008 by TAMA Manufacturing, told the Call that Toomey's efforts do not help the working class, but "help big business, CEOs and millionaires."

Toomey was in Pottsville at a roundtable discussion with businesspeople Tuesday where he blamed government regulations for impeding the nation's recovery.
