Salisbury Commissioner Norma Cusick Steps Down After Five Years

Salisbury Township Commissioner Norma Cusick did not run for re-election in November.

After serving five years on the , Norma Cusick said goodbye at her last meeting on Dec. 22.

“I want to thank the residents of Salisbury Township for allowing me to be their representative,” said Cusick, who did not run for re-election in November.

, but did not win.

Cusick was appointed to the Salisbury board of commissioners to fill a vacancy. She then ran for the position and won.

“During my tenure I have worked diligently to maintain services while not raising taxes. I have also worked for transparency in performing my duties,” she said. Cusick also expressed pride and admiration for the township’s police department, Police Chief Allen W. Stiles and the volunteer firefighters for keeping residents safe.

She also thanked the Public Works Department and its director, John Andreas for excellent street maintenance, and township management and staff for their continuing good work. 

Cusick currently is a board member of the Lehigh County Authority and the . She previously served on the Salisbury Township Planning Commission and the .

At the commissioners’ reorganization meeting on Jan. 3, Cusick will be replaced on the Salisbury board by , a retired project manager. In 2006, Brinton volunteered for the same board vacancy Cusick was chosen to fill.
