Salisbury Commissioners Honor Local Volunteers

Salisbury residents recognized for their volunteer work in the community.

Seven Salisbury Township residents were recognized  for their contributions to the community through volunteer work at the township's annual volunteer recognition ceremony Wednesday at the .

 Charles Mann

  • Member of the Mountainville Lions Club for more than 50 years.
  • Served as president of the Mountainville Lions Club, which supported school functions, seeing eye dogs, police dogs, the eye bank, and international relief projects.
  • Member of the Pioneers Club.
  • Generally willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors.

Gerald (Jerry) Royer

  • Devoted time to the Salisbury Youth Association's baseball team as a coach by teaching children how to play sports together, how to win and have fun, too.
  • Fireman for the past 33 years with Western Salisbury Fire Department, and even when he's not doing physical labor for them, he's still willing to answer the calls.

Bridget Eripret

  • Volunteered as a Salisbury Youth Association (SYA) basketball coach since 2002 and is still coaching.
  • Coached SYA soccer (2005 - 2009).
  • Partnered with her husband, Marc Eripret, to coach the Salisbury Middle School girls' basketball team for an undefeated season.
  • Volunteered to help raise relief funds for the Haitian earthquake effort.
  • Assists in the classroom at Harry Truman Elementary School

Marc Eripret

  • Volunteered time as an SYA soccer coach from 2003 to present.
  • Coached the same group of SYA youths for six seasons.
  • Has offered to coach the Salisbury Middle School girls’ basketball team and led them to an undefeated season.

Patricia and Richard Dillman

  •  Established Jenn’s House, a facility offering lodging and comfort for those needing to stay in close proximity to the hospital. Their daughter, Jenn,  suddenly passed away in 1991 after a chartered bus accident. They found value in such a facility and wanted to add more to the area.

Dev Kannan

  • Member of Salisbury Fire Company for 14 years,
  • Has served as deputy chief for past few years and has been responsible for maintenance of equipment.
  • Roles have included: firefighter, fire officer, fire inspector and public education.
  • Active member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.
  • Traveled to third world countries to build housing.
