Salisbury Detective Brian Klimowicz Retires

Salisbury Township Police Detective Brian Klimowicz served 27 years on the force.

After 27 years of distinguished service, , 50, has retired.

Salisbury Township commissioners accepted Klimowicz’s resignation Jan. 12, effective Jan. 13. “With regret,” said Township Manager Randy Soriano.

Klimowicz did not attend the commissioners meeting with his resignation on the agenda, but township resident Wendell J. Mukics did. In recognition of the detective work Klimowicz and police did after a burglary at his home, leading to an arrest, Mukics presented the department with a check for $500. “Klimowicz worked hard,” said Mukics. “My sorrow is over.”

Klimowicz was promoted to detective in 2003. He was trained in all phases of criminal investigation and forensics, and In 2005, he was awarded theGallantry Star for his apprehension of an armed homicide suspect.

He was appointed to the police department on Jan. 1, 1985, and worked as a patrol officer, traffic safety coordinator, traffic crash reconstructionist and firearms training officer.
