Salisbury Residents Must Pay for Sewer Backups

The Salisbury Township Commissioners changed the township's sewer backup claims policy, making residents responsible for insuring themselves for damages.

Salisbury Township residents whose property continuously experience water or sewer backups will now be responsible for paying for damages, according to a new change to the township's policy.

“The township will not pay for it,” said Township Manager Randy at the May 10 meeting. The board authorized the change to the township’s sewer backup claims policy.

The township will send a letter to property owners notifying them they will be responsible for insuring themselves for water and sewer backup damages.
