The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling southbound on the Turnpike’s Northeastern Extension (I-476) between the Mahoning Valley (Exit #74) and Lehigh Valley (Exit #56) interchanges to be prepared for a single lane traffic pattern to be in effect tonight, Tuesday (July 17) between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. tomorrow.
Starting at 7 p.m. construction crews will establish a single-lane pattern southbound, closing the left lane between milepost A76-A73 during milling and paving operations until the pattern is lifted at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The posted speed limit through this work zone will be 40 miles-per-hour. Motorists should stay alert for slow moving or stopped traffic approaching the Mahoning Valley Interchange.
The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather and subject to change. For all construction updates and travel advisory information, visit the project website at www.lehighbridge.com.
Motorists are urged to obey posted 40/55 mph speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas. Construction-zone speed limits are enforceable, and fines will be doubled.
