Final School Budget set for Wednesday Vote
School directors will likely approve a $31.5 million budget that will increase property taxes 2.2%, or 16.8708 mills.
The Salisbury Township School Board will likely approve a 2013-14 school budget that will increase real estate taxes 2.2 percent, or 16.8708 mills, during Wednesday's board meeting.
Last month, school directors were able to whittle down a large budget gap to $182,838, which is being covered by the district's fund balance which stands at $2.1 million.
Salisbury Township School District Business Administrator Robert Bruchak said last month that directors refunded a bond issuance, accepted new staff retirements, saved $46,000 on transportation costs and lowered energy costs in order to lower the tax hike.
Last year, school directors implemented a budget that raised taxes 4 percent.
