Salisbury Graduates Sign for Athletic Scholarships

Sean Baker and Zach Harper celebrated the signing of their college athletic scholarships with cake and kind words.

Salisbury High School Principal Heather Morningstar, along with coaches, family and friends joined in the school's lobby Tuesday to celebrate the success of recent graduates Sean Baker and Zach Harper.

Each received four-year athletic scholarships and signed letters of intent to play in college.

Baker will play soccer at the University of Richmond and Harper will play baseball at Philadelphia University.

"These two young men helped contribute to three district team titles," Monica Deeb, director of activities at Salisbury Township School District, told the gathering.

"Harper was the starting pitcher that went to state finals. Our baseball team just wouldn’t lose this year!,” she said.

Baker and Harper were named Morning Call Area First Team Members.

“Both of these kids are extremely hard working individuals and certainly deserve everything they got. I can honestly say that Sean Baker is probably within the top three hardest working kids that we’ve had within our soccer program, and that’s a might lofty group of individuals to be in,” said Mark Allinson, head varsity soccer coach for boys and girls.
