Salisbury High School to Host Prestigious TEDx Conference on Saturday

Salisbury's TEDx event, an offshoot of the prestigious TED conferences, will be the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley.

Salisbury High School will be the site of a TEDx forum on Saturday, Nov. 17, an offshoot of the prestigious TED conferences held in California that have featured some of the most innovative thinkers and leaders of the day.

Salisbury's TEDx event will feature student speakers and be the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley. TEDx is modeled after the TED conferences, which stands for technology, entertainment and design, and adheres to its mission of "ideas worth spreading."

The TEDx forum will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium and feature presentations by students on the theme of "sustaining innovation."

TED began in 1984 with two conferences in California and has since grown to include many satellite versions, including TEDx Youth Day, such as the one being held at Salisbury High School that are designed to empower and inspire young people.
