Salisbury School Board Accepts Bid for Baseball Field Improvements
Baseball field to be regraded, additions include chain link backstop, safety netting.
The Salisbury School Board voted at the August 17 meeting to accept the Grace Industries bid of $269,460 to regrade and improve
The field's slope will be regraded and the chain link backstop and chain link fence along the first and third base lines will be replaced. Safety netting will also be installed.
The district already budgeted $190,000 for the plan, however they need to use capital funds for the remaining balance.

This bid gives the district a financial cushion in case any problems or unforeseen issues arise.
The other bid received allowed for a $20,000 safety net while Grace Industries bid allows for a $45,000 safety net.

"This really is a safety issue for fans and players," said Board Vice President Keith Reinsmith.
He said the regrading of the field will provide a safer atmosphere for the players and the safety netting will protect fans as well as school property from foul balls.
