Salisbury School Board Finalizes Naming Rights Draft

Board agrees to honor retired Coach Bill Paulik

The Salisbury School Township Board will vote Wednesday night on a new facility naming policy for the district.

The board has been working on a new policy since since some residents requested several months ago that Salisbury High School's new gymnasium be named after longtime coach, physical education teacher and athletic director Bill Paulik.  The district had no naming policy and the board was reluctant to make a decision without standards in place.

The new policy gives the school board greater control over what buildings get named, how they are named and for whom or what they are named.

In a related matter, the board then decided it would be more appropriate to name the old gym in honor of Paulik, since he had spent his career there, rather than the new gym. The old gym will be renovated and be used by the community.  They also proposed creating a wall or hall of fame in the high school where Salisbury faculty such as Paulik could be honored.
