Salisbury School Enrollment Remains Basically Flat

The Salisbury School District said a total of 1,624 students are currently enrolled with more enrollments expected before the school year begins.

A total of 1,624 students are enrolled in Salisbury Township schools with more expected to join before the school year begins on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

"We're moving steadily, but it's nothing that would indicate that we would need to hire staff," said Superintendent of Schools Michael Roth.


Harry S. Truman School has 402 students enrolled, down from 431 students in June. Kindergarten enrollment is continuing and is expected to top out in the mid-50s.

Western Salisbury Elementary School has 231 students enrolled, up from 224 in June. Two Kindergarten classes of 20 students apiece are expected.

Salisbury Middle School has 384 students enrolled, down from 392 in June.

Salisbury High School has 384 students enrolled, down from 392 in June.

School administrators said they are still processing new student enrollments and will continue to do so until the opening of school on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
