No Serious Injuries in Lehigh Christian Academy Bus Crash

Six people, including four Lehigh Christian Academy students, were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, after a school bus and car collided Thursday morning on S. Cedar Crest Blvd.

10:50 a.m. update: The four Lehigh Valley Christian Academy students riding on a Parkland School bus involved in a crash Thursday morning were not injured, according to the Parkland School District. The bus driver, whose name has not been released, was is undergoing precautionary testing but appears not to be seriously injured, officials said.

The bus was hit by an oncoming car that crossed the center line on S. Cedar Crest Blvd. in South Whitehall Township and hit the rear of the bus, the district said in a news release. In an attempt to avoid the collision, the bus driver veered the school bus to the right, and the oncoming car hit the rear wheel of the bus. The collision caused the bus to roll on its side.

"We are so thankful that no one has been hurt and commend our bus driver for acting swiftly and safely," Parkland Superintendent Richard Sniscak said.

Original report: Four elementary students and their bus driver on their way to in Salisbury Township were taken to as a precaution after an accident Thursday morning.

Police say there are no reports of serious injuries.

A car collided with the small Parkland school district bus on S. Cedar Crest Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m., knocking the bus onto its side.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital.

South Whitehall Police are investigating to determine what caused the accident.
