Keys to Awesomeness: Interested in politics, senior Bridget Higgins has been a student representative at Salisbury High School for two years. She signed up because she wanted to see how the school board works and how the decisions they make affect her and her peers.  Once a month, she and the other student representatives meet with the principal or vice principal and talk about what's going on at the school. They discuss the opinions of the student body and ways to improve the school. In addition, she attends school board meetings once a month and updates board members on student activities, opinions and any other high school news.

“Being a student representative has helped me pick a course of study in college and given me career goals. It has given me a basic understanding of how the school runs and why decisions are made. I am more aware of choices made and the reasons behind them,” Higgins said. In addition to being a student representative, Higgins is senior class president, a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Model United Nations, Key Club, National Honor Society and is involved in the school musical. She plans to attend college to study economics and political science.
