Championship Salisbury Swim Coach Resigns

Jason Reinhard, who led the Salisbury boys swimming and diving team to the school's first-ever PIAA championship, is resigning.

Jason Reinhard, the first-year head coach who led the Salisbury High School boys swimming and diving team to the school's first-ever PIAA title, is resigning his position.

Wednesday's Salisbury School Board personnel agenda says the board "accepts with regret," the resignation of Reinhard, who also served as the school's winter strength coach.

Salisbury High School Athletic Director Monica Deeb confirmed Reinhard's resignation.

"He did a wonderful job and we will miss him very much. We are grateful for his time at Salisbury and we wish him the best," Deeb told Salisbury Patch.

Reinhard reflected on the school's first-ever PIAA title on the district's web site.

"It was a really special moment and this was their goal all year," Reinhard wrote on the district's Web site following the PIAA 2A victory. "It became realistic as the year went on. After districts we knew we had a legitimate chance.  The fact that it is the school's first state team championship makes it even more meaningful."

The Salisbury School Board recognized the swimming team's accomplishments at a recent meeting.
