About 5,600 women are expected to participate in Saturday's 20th Women's 5K Classic and most spent a portion of their time on the eve of the Classic at The Josh Early Candies Health Expo.
The event was held at St. Luke's West End Medical Center (formerly the PA Expo Center) from 3 to 7 p.m., and it was a sea of pink T-shirts and even a few pink wigs as participants picked up their bibs and registration packs.
Most stayed to take advantage of the Health Expo, sponsored by Josh Early Candies. Seventy vendors were there with plenty of "pink" give-a-ways.
Some of the expo's highlights included: Bone Density Heel Scans; Body Fat Analysis, Mammogram Information; Blood Pressure Screening; Chair Messages; Relaxation Techniques; Mini Facials; Home Safety Tips; Skin Care Products and Treatments; Shopping; Wholesome Food, and raffles.
The race starts Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Little Lehigh Parkway in Allentown. It is a race to benefit the Greater Lehigh Valley and its fight against breast cancer. To date, the Classic has distributed more than $1.8 million to help fight cancer in the Lehigh Valley.
