Rain Delay: Salisbury Baseball Playoff Postponed

Rain has delayed Salisbury's state playoff baseball game.

The Salisbury High School baseball team, which has garnered two championships this season, begins its quest for a state gold medal on Tuesday.

The playoff game originally scheduled for Monday has been postponed because of rain.

The Falcons (23-1 overall), the reigning champions of the Colonial League and District 11 2A, will travel to south Philadelphia to take on Neumann-Goretti High School from District 1 in the first round of the PIAA 2A tournament.

Game time is 3:15 p.m.

The game will be played at Richie Ashburn Field, located in FDR Park, in South Philadelphia. The park is located between the Wells Fargo Center and Citizens Bank Park.

Admission is $6 for all adults and $3 for students.

Salisbury won its 11th Colonial League championship title last year.

In 2011, the Falcons made history by becoming the school's first team to compete for a state title in any sport.
