Camp Red Jacket Helps Kids with Diabetes

Three-day program teaches children with Type 1 Diabetes how to manage the disease in a fun camp setting

Lehigh Valley Health Network held its 11th annual Camp Red Jacket at Orefield's Camp Fowler on June 29. The program teaches kids with Type 1 Diabetes how to manage their disease through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities in a camp setting. Forty-six children ages 6-12 participated in this year's program.

Activities included crafts, games, sports, blood sugar testing and educational courses on the skills needed to live a healthy life with diabetes.
