Temple Shirat Shalom Delivers Supplies to Cleveland Elementary School
As part of its Tools for Schools program, members of Temple Shirat Shalom in Salisbury Township deliver much-needed school supplies to an inner-city Allentown elementary school.
Members of Temple Shirat Shalom presented two carloads of school supplies Wednesday to the teachers and 365 students of Cleveland Elementary School in Allentown.
More than 90 percent of the school's students live in poverty and some are homeless, according to Principal Robert Wheeler.
The supplies were delivered as part of Temple Shirat Shalom's Tools for Schools program, which is headed by Dr. Cheryl Shadick and Dr. Norman Sarachek.

Temple Shirat Shalom, which means Song of Peace, is a reform synagogue that was established a year ago and meets at in Salisbury Township.
Supplies included pencil boxes, file folders, markers, colored pencil sets, dry erase boards for classroom learning centers, an emergency supply of backpacks, hand sanitizer and even boxes of award stickers for the teachers to use to encourage learning.

Temple Shirat Shalom and Cleveland School thank those who generously supported this effort and hope the materials help the students get off to a great year of learning.
