Salisbury Football, Allentown Fair Top Weekend Events

It's Labor Day weekend, the last unofficial weekend of the summer. It's one last chance to let loose and enjoy time with family and friends.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for 
a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend, so be sure to keep your eyes to the skies. 

Here's what's going on in and around Salisbury Township this weekend:

  • The Salisbury School District is closed Friday for the Labor Day weekend holiday.
  • The Salisbury High School varsity football team opens its Colonial League football season Friday night, traveling to the Slate Belt to take on Bangor. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Make the trip and support the Falcons.
  • The Great Allentown Fair continues its run through Labor Day at the Allentown Fairgrounds. For specific information on the fair, including hours, headliner acts and admission prices, click here
  • Dorney Park in nearby South Whitehall is open all weekend for your swimming and roller-coaster riding pleasure. Click here for hours, admission and parking information.
  • Check out the Grossology exhibit at the Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown, which is in its final two weeks. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
  • The nearby Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Friday through Monday.
  • The Falcon Soccer Tournament will take place Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Salisbury High School.
