President Asshat since day one has been set out to destroy the “white devil” (justRead More listen to his community rally speeches). Ignorant people voted for him and ignorant people are still chanting his name “Heil Obama” … Just like Hilter and Stalin he wants a “planned economy” destroying producers forcing the people to be more reliant on government; which the ACA is designed to do. I believe that Asshat is causing more problems so when his section “8” lease is up, he can blame his replacement on the troubles “look, I needed more time, not my fault”.

This happened in a "Gun Free" zone. The doctor, unfortunately, will probably lose hisRead More job for carrying his firearm into the building even though he would have lost his life if he hadn't. This proves, without a shadow of doubt, that "Gun Free' zone protect nobody...but, legal concealed carry of firearms saves lives and stops criminals.

Thank God for brave people like Dr. Silverman. Hurrah!
Sue B July 25, 2014 at 12:22 pm
Way to go Dr Silverman, you not only saved your life, but I am sure countless others. It isRead More ludicrous how the liberals are so against the 2nd Amend, yet, if that were them in the line of fire, they would be screaming Where is my protection? It is a known fact, that the time before a police officer gets there, no matter how fast, makes a huge difference if you are armed or unarmed and/or if you live or die. Nine times out of Ten, it is usually the police officer arriving AFTER the incident. As far as I am concerned, they can make all the "gun free zones" they want, I prefer to live in "Guns ALLOWED Zone".

By the way, Corbett admitted to cutting state funding for Education: Today, after touring Mt. JoyRead More Wire to see that 130-person business, the governor was asked if the $429 million in lost state funding for schools compared to last year, meant he "cut education funding the state used to give?" He responded: "We reduced education if you a take a look at it as a whole. - See more at: http://www.psba.org/news-publications/headlines/details.asp?id=2382#sthash.ChjzrG7n.dpuf

That is a total joke. Why do they have to raise the speed limit when people go 75-85 mph now? ThereRead More is virtually no enforcement now for speeders and there will be no enforcement when the limit changes.

It's all about the newer gas burners that don't burn up so much . Remember the 55 MPH limit . ItRead More reduced road deaths and saved gas . I think that was the purpose of the 55 mph . I-78 should be renamed to Heavens Highway .

Kara, the headline reads "Organic Fruit Sold Locally Recalled for Possible ListeriaRead More Contamination". It's clearly sensationalizing the two organic products.
Suzanne jefferis July 24, 2014 at 01:12 pm
The article should read 'Fruit Sold Locally'... It is misleading to the unaware who read no fartherRead More to suggest that organic fruit is the problem. All fruit, organic or those sprayed with unsafe pesticides should be washed. If gene spliced with herbicides and toxic pathogens as with GMO fruit, it is no longer a product of nature.
PS July 24, 2014 at 02:24 pm
Let's be realistic, those who are "unaware" probably aren't the people buying organic inRead More the first place. Lay off Kara - she's the only reason the patch is any good!

Facts first! Rural interstates account for less than 5% of Pennsylvania's traffic deaths. With aRead More fatality rate of 0.60, rural interstates are the safest rural roads in the state -- the state-wide rural rate is 3.72 deaths per 100-million-travel-miles -- over six times higher!

It was recently posed that speed limits were just revenue generators. I say drop the speed limitsRead More altogether and have police enforce safe driving by discretion.
Pam July 20, 2014 at 10:17 am
I've noticed that other states like Arizona, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, etc have theirRead More posted speed limits appropriate to the road conditions. On limited access highways (theirs tend to be a spacious 4-8 lanes) the speed limit is 85mph & 75mph on major roads. Good drivers know that this is 'maximum' assumes dry road conditions & good visibility. For limited access roads this is a blessing. Mountain passes, hairpin curves, and severe sloped grades are a different story and might be 25mph or less. Cut to PA limited access highways: tons of congestion and bottlenecks, typical 2-4 lanes except of rt95 and some parts of the PA turnpike, slower speed limits, and more people commuting. It's not hard to see why 'rush hour' in PA is all about sitting in traffic NOT moving. 'Rush hour' in AZ is not a congested mess, there are lots of people and the traffic moves great ! Our PA roads are small and designed poorly for traffic flow and speed. Take the new rt202 bypass through Doylestown to Montgomeryville, feeder roads are posted higher than the limited access road (45mph)-how is that NOT a bottleneck? Raising the speed limit on major PA limited access roads helps alleviate congestion. I wouldn't do this with every PA road, but the turnpike is a good start.
