Walmart continues its price wars, this time on Apple's iPhone and iPad.

The holiday 2012 shopping bargains did not end with Black Friday on the coveted new iPhone. Walmart, in a move the week before Christmas, announced it will begin selling the iPhone 5 for $127, which is $72 less than Apple's price when buying with a two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. The iPhone 4S can be had for a mere $47. Also, Walmart has put the third-generation iPad on sale for $399. And if you buy one after Monday Walmart will throw in a $30 iTunes gift card. Unfortunately, the Walmart, in Quakertown on 309 is out of third-generation iPads, but has second and fourth generations in stock at regular price. St. Thomas More School will begin the first phase of its iPad initiative in the 2012-2013 school year.
St. Thomas More School students will be provided with iPads under a new technology plan that will begin this fall, according to school officials. “Information technology is vital to the mission and function of St. Thomas More School enhancing teaching and learning and supporting the function of the school," Principal Peter Schutzler said in an e-mail to Patch. The school will roll out the iPads in phases. For the 2012-2013 school year, students in first, second, fifth and sixth grades will be issued a school-owned iPad. Each kindergarten classroom will get five iPads to be used in small groups. Students in seventh and eighth grades will use iPads in the social studies classroom. That's nice but public schools have been implementing (and taking the lead with)such programs for years now with success.   more ›
