Cardona Gasped for Air as Killer Returned to Slit Throat, Police Say

A district judge ruled Friday there is enough evidence to send Kimberly Cardona's alleged killer's case to Lehigh County Court.

Beaten but alive and gasping for breath, Kimberly Cardona lay on the side of a remote road in Salisbury Township when Jonathan Nunez allegedly returned to slit her throat sometime on July 4, according to a Salisbury Police officer's testimony Friday in Lehigh County Court. Body Found on Lanze Lane in Salisbury

Salisbury Township Police are investigating a dead body found shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday near the Summit Hill exit off I-78.

The Lehigh County Coroner's office will conduct an autopsy later this morning to determine the cause and manner of death of a body found around 9 p.m. Thursday on Lanze Lane in Salisbury Township, a police department spokeswoman said. Salisbury Township Police are investigating the death, which they termed "suspicious." The body was discovered on the side of Lanze Lane, near a residential neighborhood off the Summit Hill exit of Interstate 78. (Missed the Breaking News?
