Snow and Ice Coming Monday, Forecasters Say

A messy mixture of snow, ice and rain is expected Monday along with sub-freezing temperatures in the morning

A winter storm is on the way and it could make for a messy commute to work or school Monday morning, according to weather forecasters. WFMZ says snow will start around sunrise and continue for a few hours before it changes to rain in late morning or early afternoon. The National Weather Service predicts "rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 3 p.m., then rain and freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet from 3 to 4 p.m., then rain and sleet likely after 4 p.m." We could get about an inch of snow and sleet. Daytime highs will climb into the 40s on Tuesday and 50s on Wednesday but both days will be cloudy and rainy.

Snow Likely in Salisbury Friday Afternoon

Salisbury Township could get a few inches of snow later on Friday, according to the National Weather Service

A quick moving storm is expected to bring snow to Salisbury Township Friday afternoon and night, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service. Snow could start falling late Friday afternoon and bring two to three inches, the Weather Service predicts. It will be bitter cold, with a high near 22 degrees F. but feel like -1 degree F. with the wind chill. Temperatures will continue to stay well below freezing over the weekend. We could see a warm up next week.

Deep Freeze All Week in Salisbury, Snow on Friday

Daytime highs will be well below freezing all week in Salisbury Township, while the National Weather Service also calls for the potential for "plowable snowfall" on Friday.

An arctic air mass is bringing Salisbury Township and the rest of the Lehigh Valley the longest period of cold weather it has seen in two years. There's snow in the forecast along with a big chill that will keep daytime high temperatures from rising out of the 20s for the rest of the week. The daytime high temperature is not expected to go above the freezing mark until Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Today is the most frigid day in the forecast, as the high temperature is expected to be 20 degrees with a wind chill factor that will make it feel like less than zero. Snow and Sleet Expected Tuesday Night

A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected tonight through Wednesday that will make travel conditions difficult in the Lehigh Valley.

Updated at noon: The Lehigh Valley is  now under a winter weather advisory tonight through 11 a.m. Wednesday. Between 1-3 inches of snow is expected to fall beginning sometime after 10 p.m., according to WFMZ. There's a chance of rain and snow before 10 p.m. followed by rain, snow, freezing rain and sleet.   The Lehigh Valley could get about an inch of snow beginning late Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. On Wednesday, snow, possibly mixing with rain, will begin after 10 a.m. The high will be near 39 degrees. Daytime highs will remain well above freezing until Friday.

Winter Warmup Brings Weekend Highs in 50s

The Lehigh Valley is enjoying a January thaw this week with temperatures that will climb from the 40s into the 50s.

The National Weather Service says temperatures will climb into the 50s the next few days, giving us a nice respite from the unseasonably cold weather we had over the holidays. The high could hit 57 by Sunday, although skies will be cloudy over the weekend. Here's the forecast: Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 44. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Friday: A chance of rain after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57.

More Snow Expected Saturday, Dec. 29

Snow is the forecast again and we could get a few inches on Saturday.

So far this week, we had a white Christmas and a post-Christmas snow and ice storm that led to a tragic accident on Interstate 78. While today will be sunny, snow is in the forecast again with a few inches or more expected Saturday. The National Weather Service says hazardous travel should develop for much of eastern Pennsylvania Saturday morning as snow begins falling around daybreak or shortly after that. Snowfall could range from 2 to 5 inches ending in the afternoon or evening. Daytime temperatures will hover in the low to mid 30s. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 34.

1-3 Inches of Snow Expected in Lehigh Valley

A sloppy post- Christmas winter storm is expected to bring snow, sleet and rain to the Lehigh Valley Wednesday and Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for a sloppy mix of rain, sleet and snow with the possibility of one to three inches of snow accumulating in the Lehigh Valley. WFMZ meteorologist Matt Broderick says precipitation will begin as snow between late this morning and early this afternoon. Here's the NWS forecast: Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 37.

Snow Monday night into Tuesday could make tomorrow's morning commute a little messy.

The National Weather Service says we can expect to get about an inch of snow tonight - enough snow to affect the Tuesday morning commute. An additional inch or so could accumulate Tuesday, possibly mixing with rain. The forecast says: Tonight: Snow likely after 1 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 28. Calm wind. Weekend Forecast: Warm and Sunny

Mother Nature will reward us this weekend for surviving Hurricane Sandy and the recent cold snap

  A warm and sunny weekend is in the forecast following the weather-related misery of the past two weeks that brought Hurricane Sandy followed by colder than usual temperatures. The National Weather Service says Saturday, Sunday and Monday will all be sunny with temperatures into the low 60s and nighttime lows well above freezing. WFMZ meteorologist Matt Broderick says, "Saturday looks pleasant with partly sunny skies and highs near 60 degrees. Sunday looks great with sunshine and highs soaring into the middle 60s. Veterans Day looks warm as well with highs in the middle 60s under partly sunny skies."
