Two Tickets Won $588 Million Powerball Jackpot

There were two Powerball winners who will share the $588 million jackpot in Wednesday night's lottery.

If you bought your Powerball ticket in Pennsylvania, you did not win last night's $588 million jackpot. Two winning tickets were sold in the Nov. 28 Powerball lottery, according to Powerball.com. Those tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri. The winning Nov. 28 numbers were 5-16-22-23-29 with a Powerball of 6. In Pennsylvania, there were a total of 536,497 players who won a prize by matching some combination of numbers, according to the Powerball website's winners by state page. There was at least one "Match 5" winner of $1 million in the Keystone state. Each Powerball ticket costs $2. Players choose five numbers plus a sixth Powerball number. The Pennsylvania Lottery reported Powerball and Powerplay sales of approximately $20,000 per minute.

Continuing high-volume ticket sales have pushed the Powerball jackpot to a game-record $550 million annuity value, or a $360.2 million cash prize, for the Wednesday, Nov. 28 drawing. Just this morning the jackpot was $500 million annuity value, or a $327.4 million cash prize. Also at midday on Nov. 28, the Pennsylvania Lottery reported statewide Powerball and Powerplay sales volume of approximately $20,000 per minute. “Pennsylvania Lottery players are very excited about this record Powerball jackpot, and that excitement is being reflected in our ticket sales,” said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci.“We urge our players to purchase their Powerball tickets early to avoid a last-minute rush, and to always play responsibly.”  …
