Go Falcons! Boys Defend Baseball Championship Thursday

The Colonial League baseball championship Thursday will feature Salisbury versus Southern Lehigh.

  Salisbury boys will go for their twelfth Colonial League baseball championship Thursday against Southern Lehigh at 7 p.m. at Limeport Stadium. The Falcons defeated Notre Dame 4-1 Tuesday in the semi-final game. Salisbury goes into the championship ranked first in the Colonial League South. Southern Lehigh is ranked second. Four Falcons have been named to the Colonial League all-star baseball first team: Salisbury won its 11th Colonial League championship title last year. In 2011, the Falcons made history by becoming the school's first team to compete for a state title in any sport. Falcons outfielder Mason Kresley was recently named the Morning Call's "High School Player of the Week" for his two-run home run last week. Kresley has 27 …

Salisbury Boys Lead Division Going Into Baseball Playoff Tuesday

Salisbury baseball team continues to dominate the Colonial League south.

The Salisbury boys baseball team goes into its semifinal playoff game Tuesday sitting atop the Colonial League south standings. The Falcons will play Notre Dame-Green Pond at 7 p.m. at Limeport Stadium. The winner of that game will play the winner of Tuesday's 4 p.m. semifinal match between Southern Lehigh and Catasauqua for the championship. The championship game is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in Limeport. Salisbury won its 11th Colonial League championship title last year. State Championship Swim Team Feted by School Board

The Salisbury School Board honored the accomplishments of the high school boys swim team, which won the first state title in school history earlier this year.

Salisbury School Board directors honored a Salisbury High School athletic team that made school history earlier this year. School officials recently honored the PIAA 2A state championship boys swim team. The boys swim team became the first Salisbury High School athletic team to win a PIAA state championship in any sport. The manner in which the Falcon swim team, under the direction of first-year coach Jason Reinhard, won the title will also be etched in school lore. Trailing by one point entering the final event, the 400-meter relay team of Jon Dakota Anderson, Tim Costantini, Garrett Collins and Eric Tatum took the event to secure the gold medal. State Champions! Salisbury Boys Swimmers Win Gold

The PIAA 2A championship marks the first team state title in Salisbury School District history.

The Salisbury High School boys swimming team made school history Thursday night at Bucknell University by winning the PIAA 2A state championship, according to a report in The Morning Call.  Salisbury finished with 151 points, edging Franklin Area who had 143 and Bellefonte Area with 138. "Way to go Salisbury swimmers! You ALL work so hard and put in many hours in the pool! A great group of swimmers!," wrote Mary Cilalkowski on the Salisbury School District's Facebook page. Unbelievable OT buzzer shot gives Salisbury a win in the District 11 quarterfinals

Here's a YouTube video by 22tommydtr showing the Salisbury Falcon Boys basketball team defeating the Wilson Warriors in epic fashion. Salisbury's senior guard Dan Reichenbach hit a remarkable 30-foot shot at the buzzer in overtime, giving the Falcons a 57-55 upset over Wilson in the District 11 Class AAA boys quarterfinals at Catasauqua High School, according to Lehigh Valley Live.

Congrats, Salisbury Junior Academy of Science Winners!

36 Salisbury students win first-place awards in Pa. Junior Academy of Science

The Region 3 competition for Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science was held at Easton High School on Saturday, February 23, 2013. The seventh and eighth grade students were coached by Megan Basile, who also serves as the regional judging coordinator for Region 3.  The ninth through eleventh grade students were coached by Ruth Smith, who also assigns judges for the regional competition. Both Paul Koba and Susan Wilson,high school science teachers, served as judges for the regional competition. 'Romeo and Juliet' Actors Celebrate Salisbury Show [Photos]

Salisbury High School's 'Romeo and Juliet' was full of musical surprises.

Salisbury High School's stage production of 'Romeo and Juliet' was full of musical surprises as Shakespeare got a dose of pop culture. Director Will Windsor Erwin and his team used contemporary songs to create the score, and Salisbury students sang and danced to help tell Shakespeare's story of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Ex-Salisbury Woman Killed in Florida Hit-and-Run

A teacher from Salisbury Township was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Loxahatchee, Fla.

Police in Florida are searching for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed Paula Vinsky, a Salisbury High School graduate who was teaching in the Palm Beach County School District. Vinsky died at the scene after being hit from behind in Loxahatchee last Wednesday around 9 p.m., according to the Palm Beach Post. Police are looking for a blue sport utility vehicle—possibly a Jeep Liberty—with front-end damage, according to WPTV.com. Vinsky, 47, taught special needs students at Crossroads Academy in Belle Glade, Fla., according to the Morning Call. She was a 1987 graduate of Kutztown University. Vinsky enjoyed going to happy hours and brunch with friends at restaurants around the Palm Beach area and she was recovering from surgery nine …
