Police are investigating a body found burned at the Unami Gun Club in Salisbury Township.
A body found burning near Unami Fish and Game Club off Chestnut Hill Road in Salisbury Township Thursday morning was a white or light-skinned Hispanic woman age 20 to 40, according to the Lehigh County coroner. An autopsy will be performed Friday to determine the exact cause of death. The woman's identity will be revealed once investigators know for sure who she was and notify her next of kin. Emergency responders were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. when a resident driving on Chestnut Hill Road saw something burning near the Unami Fish and Game Club in Salisbury Township not far from the Emmaus border. Salisbury Township police are investigating. -- The owner of a car that was up on cinder blocks outside an apartment on 33rd Street SW reported that all four tires and wheels were stolen. Township police said they received the report of the missing tires at 12:56 a.m. Friday. -- A burglary was reported about 8:39 p.m. Dec. 16 at a home on the 600 block of Federal Street. Two vacant homes were burglarized recently by someone after copper piping, Salisbury police say.
Someone entered two vacant Salisbury Township homes in an effort to steal copper piping, police said. On December 18, township police received a report of a burglary of a home for sale on Mockingbird Court. Someone entered through the garage and got into the basement. There, the burglar tried and failed to cut out some copper piping, police said. The next day, police received another report of a burglary of a vacant home for sale on Bridle Path Road in which someone succeeded in removing copper pipping. Copper has become more expensive in the last decade and the number of reports of copper thefts have increased. Two New Jersey men were just arrested for allegedly stealing copper downspouts in Easton.

Salisbury Township Police said a man tried to shoplift several articles of clothing from The Bon-Ton at South Mall by stuffing them down his pants. Caprice Brown, 34, of an unknown address, was charged with retail theft, possession of marijuana and possession of an instrument of crime on Dec. 10, police said. Security at The Bon-Ton said they saw Brown enter a dressing room with multiple articles of clothing but emerge with one item, police said. Officers apprehended Brown as he left the store and he admitted he stuffed the items down his pants, police said. Police detected an odor of marijuana and found a small amount of what appeared to be marijuana and a pair of pliers that Brown allegedly used to cut the security tags off the clothing…

Salisbury Township police monitor aggressive driving at S. Cedar Crest Boulevard and Briarwood Lane.
Salisbury Township police cited 25 motorists for speeding and two more for other violations on Dec. 4 at S. Cedar Crest Boulevard and Briarwood Lane, according to Officer Bryan Losagio. Police stopped 29 vehicles between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day -- a Tuesday. The special enforcement was paid for with an aggressive driving grant. The department has recently acquired a new traffic monitoring device that can record motorists' speeds and is deployed throughout the township.

Two men were arrested on charges they stole polo shirts from the Bon-Ton at South Mall, and two Salisbury police officers who responded to the call Thursday were injured in the incident, police said. King David III, 28, of 557 Ontario St., Bethlehem, and Nathan A. Markham, 26, of 947 Fernwood St., Emmaus, have each been charged with retail theft, criminal conspiracy, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property. David is also charged with persistent disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The names of the two Salisbury Township Police Officers injured were not disclosed.
