Dead Woman's Torture Was Video Recorded, Court Papers Say

Two Berks County brothers have been charged with killing Jennifer Velez-Negron, whose burned body was found dumped in Salisbury Township, near Emmaus, on Dec. 27. The brothers also are charged with killing 2 others.

Two Berks County brothers are charged with kidnapping, torturing and killing 26-year-old Jennifer Velez-Negron, whose burned body was found dumped in Salisbury Township not far from the Emmaus border two days after Christmas. Michael Allen Wilkins, 39, and Maurice Adrian Wilkins, 32, of Fleetwood, are charged with killing Velez-Negron, who was said to have been a witness to the shooting deaths of a Palmer Township man and another man in Reading on Dec 4. According to a release from the Berks County District Attorney's office, Velez-Negron also was said to have been involved in a drug transaction that led to the murders of the two men. Murder Victim Recently Lost Job, Lived in Salisbury

Murder victim Jennifer Velez-Negron, 26, formerly of Reading, was living with a friend in Salisbury Township, according to WFMZ.

Jennifer Velez-Negron was living with a friend in Salisbury Township shortly before her burning body was found two days after Christmas on a wooded residential road in the township, according to WFMZ. Velez-Negron, 26, formerly of Reading, had recently lost her job and was stressed about providing for her three children, her younger sister Yesenia Velez told WFMZ. Salisbury police discovered Velez-Negron's body after a passing motorist reported a small fire on the side of Chestnut Hill Road the morning of Dec. 27. An autopsy revealed Velez-Negron died from suffocation and was set on fire. Her body was burned beyond recognition, prompting investigators to seek the public's help identifying her. Woman's Burned Body ID'd

Identity of Jennifer Velez-Negron of Reading, whose body was found burning in Salisbury Township, is confirmed today through DNA testing, Lehigh County Coroner says.

The identity of the woman whose body was found burning last month in Salisbury Township was confirmed today through DNA testing, according to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim. She is Jennifer Velez-Negron, 26, of Reading, Grim said. Investigators received clues after they released a detailed description of the body a day after it was found burning on Dec. 27 in a wooded residential area behind the Unami Fish and Game Association, 75 Chestnut Hill Road. Velez-Negron, who died from suffocation and thermal injuries, was burned beyond recognition but some distinguishing characteristics were discovered during the autopsy. Coroner: Waiting for Murder Victim's DNA Results

Identity is still unknown of a woman burned alive Dec. 27 on Chestnut Hill Road in Salisbury Township.

The identity of Jane Doe, the woman found suffocated and burned to death Dec. 27 on a wooded residential road in Salisbury Township, could be confirmed later this week, according to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim. Grim said his office is waiting to get DNA results, which could be later this week or next. The coroner's office released the following description of the woman: She may have been wearing: Police continue to request any information from the public that might help them in the investigation, "no matter how insignificant it might seem," they said. Salisbury Township police talk to passing motorists, neighbors Thursday on Chestnut Hill Road where a woman was suffocated and burned last week.

Salisbury Township police officers conducted a checkpoint Thursday morning on Chestnut Hill Road in an effort to glean more information about the identity of a woman who was suffocated and burned there last week and who may have killed her. Beginning at 9 a.m., Salisbury police stopped and spoke to motorists on the remote road in a wooded residential section on South Mountain near the Unami Fish and Game Association. Police Chief: We Will Find Jane Doe's Killer

The Salisbury Township Police Chief vows to follow every lead to find the person who killed an unknown woman found suffocated and burned Dec. 27 on Chestnut Hill Road.

After an exhausting day combing through evidence where a woman's body was found burning on a frigid morning last week on a remote wooded road on South Mountain by a passing motorist, Salisbury Township Police Chief Allen Stiles vowed the department will find the killer. "We will follow every lead we can to find out who committed this crime," Stiles told the Salisbury Board of Commissioners last week. The woman, whom investigators refer to as Jane Doe because her identity is unknown, died from suffocation and burns on Dec. 27, according to the Lehigh County coroner. Police Need Help Identifying Burned Woman Found Dead in Salisbury

The woman, whose burned body was found on Chestnut Hill Road, died from suffocation and thermal injuries, according to the Lehigh County Coroner.

Police are seeking the public's help to identify a woman whose burned body was discovered Dec. 27 along the side of Chestnut Hill Road in Salisbury Township. An autopsy performed this morning determined the woman died from suffocation and thermal injuries. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim ruled the death a homicide. The coroner's office provided the following description: She may have been wearing: Salisbury Township Police Chief Allen Stiles said they are seeking to hear from anyone who may have information about a missing person.
