Snow Forecast Scaled Back to 3 to 5 Inches

The Lehigh Valley braced for Winter Storm Nemo.

The latest winter storm is upon us but the National Weather Service has downgraded its snow forecast for Salisbury to three to five inches tonight. Salisbury Township School District, The Swain School, St. Thomas More, Lehigh Christian Academy and the Arts Academy Charter School dismissed students early Friday. School events and activities for Friday afternoon and evening were cancelled. In the metropolitan New York area and parts of New England, storm total snowfall accumulations of one to two feet are possible, with locally higher amounts, especially near the coast. In addition, wind gusts as high as 70 mph are possible, creating blizzard conditions that will make travel hazardous, if not impossible, the weather service says.

Snow will continue late Friday night in Saturday, and could be heavy at times. Low temperatures around 23. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible. …
