Pay/half Discount Clothing Store Open in South Mall

Parent A&E Stores is opening the 'off-price' clothing store, replacing the Strawberry store that closed on the other side of the South Mall.

A new men's and women's clothing store is open in South Mall in Salisbury Township. A&E Stores' Pay/half, an "off-price" clothing store targeted to men, women and children, opened Thursday near The Bon-Ton entrance inside the mall. The store is replacing the Strawberry store that closed on the other side of South Mall. It is 4,100 square feet larger. The company's website says it has more than 50 locations in seven states, selling brand-name clothing and accessories at a fraction of department store prices. On Wednesday, Pay/half workers were busy making last-minute touches, including hanging and placing merchandise. 55 Pounds of Unused Drugs Collected by Salisbury Police

Lehigh County DA says national drug Take Back Day resulted in record-high collection.

Lehigh County residents discarded a record 1,557.5 pounds of expired, unwanted and unused prescription and over-the-counter medications at 17 sites during the sixth National Take Back Day. That brings the total amount collected in Lehigh County during the last six events to 4,826 pounds. Salisbury Township Police collected 55 pounds of drugs at a drop-off point at South Mall. The event was coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, Lehigh County police departments, Pennsylvania State Police and the Allentown Health Bureau. Ditch Your Old Drugs at South Mall Saturday

Salisbury Township Police will collect outdated and unwanted medications at South Mall on Saturday.

The sixth National Take Back Day drug collection will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 17 locations across Lehigh County. Salisbury Township Police will collect medications in the central court of South Mall. Allentown locations include: You can dispose of capsules, pills, including pet medications, and liquids. Syringes or Sharps will not be accepted. Residents who dispose of medications will remain anonymous, as has been the case in the last five collections, and no questions will be asked. The amount of unwanted and expired drugs collected during the past Take Back Day events has been staggering.  During the last five collection events in 2010, 2011 and 2012, a total of 3,269 pounds of drugs were collected in Lehigh County …

South Mall Liquor Store Reopens After Renovation

The Wine and Spirits shop at South Mall underwent a renovation and is now brighter and airier.

A brighter, airier Wine and Spirits store at South Mall has reopened after undergoing an extensive renovation. The store's update includes blue and orange walls, modern ceiling lights and wider aisles with new signs, said Annette Lopez, manager. "Oh, this looks great," exclaimed a customer from Emmaus as she stepped inside for the first time since the renovation began two months ago. A third cash register was added, the office was moved to the center of the floor and the refrigerators were moved to the back.

Bon-Ton Sales Up Slightly in 2012

Bon-Ton, which has store in South Mall, released fourth quarter and 2012 fiscal results.

Local and regional sports card exhibits will be on display at South Mall Thursday through Sunday.

South Mall will host a Sports Card & Collectibles Show Thursday through Sunday. See exhibits by local and regional collectors of sports cards and related collectible items. SCG (Sports Card Guarantee) will be on site Saturday only to authenticate your cards.
