State police at Fogelsville say they are looking for a thin-built black man with dreadlocks in connection with the slashing of five people, including a 19-year-old Wescosville woman.
Five people, including a 19-year-old Wescosville woman, were slashed or stabbed in fights that broke out early Saturday at a large party at 8996 Kings Highway in Lynn Township, state police at Fogelsville said. Police are looking for a suspect in connection with the slashings. He is described as a thin-built black man with dreadlocks, between the ages of 18 and 21. Police said several fights broke out during the party, and the five people were slashed or stabbed by an edged weapon. After everyone disbursed, a gunshot was fired in the area of the residence, police said. Police did not name the victims or say whether they were taken to hospitals. Two men are charged in connection with a theft at Walmart in Lower Macungie that ended in a police chase for a fake carjacking, state police at Fogelsville say.
Two Allentown men are in custody following a police chase that began Friday in Lower Macungie after one man stole baby formula from the Walmart in the township then lied that his vehicle had been carjacked, state police at Fogelsville said. The chase ended in Allentown, with police taking the second man who fled in the vehicle into custody at Seventh and Union streets, police said. Hector Vincente Rosa, 42, and Stephen "NMN" Rodriguez, 34, face charges that include retail theft and fleeing and eluding, police said. A 53-year-old woman from Stony Brook, N.Y., was killed Sunday in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 78 east in Upper Saucon, state police at Fogelsville said. Celia Marrero, who was a passenger in a Jeep Cherokee, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lehigh County coroner. The drivers of the vehicles were injured and taken to hospitals. One woman was killed in a multi-vehicle accident Sunday on Interstate 78 eastbound, near Route 309, in Upper Saucon, Lehigh County First Deputy Coroner Eric Minnich confirmed. The woman's name has not yet been released. The roadway remained closed eastbound at 9:15 p.m. as emergency crews responded to the scene. It was expected to be closed at least another hour, according to scanner reports. State police at Fogelsville said three vehicles, and possibly a fourth, were involved in the crash. Early reports were that at least one vehicle had rolled over and a person was trapped in the vehicle. A 20-year-old man wanted for the armed robbery of a convenience store in Susquehanna County while wearing a Spider-Man mask was arrested Tuesday along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie following a traffic stop. Louis Sherman, of Clifford Township, Susquehanna County, was stopped at 10:22 p.m. on I-78 near mile marker 48.4 after state police allegedly saw him driving erratically. Another person was in the vehicle. Sherman was later charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving violations. At first, he falsely told police he was "Michael Sherman," then told police he had given them a wrong name because an arrest warrant had been issued for him on a robbery charge, according to the arrest affidavit. Three people have been charged with intent to deliver heroin following a traffic stop on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie on Wednesday. Alicia Atkinson, 35, Todd Lamont Holmes, 43, and Lateef Stubblefield, 39, all of Pittsburgh, each face charges of conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Stubblefield also faces a charge of marijuana possession. A 34-year-old Allentown man was injured early Saturday when he lost control of his sport motorcycle on Interstate 78 and crashed into the barrier that separates east-west traffic. Luis A. Santiago was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, state police at Fogelsville said. The accident happened at 12:40 a.m. on I-78 west (mile marker 60.6) in Upper Saucon. State police said Santiago was travelling at 110 mph. Charges are pending, following the results of blood-alcohol content testing, they said.

Pennsylvania State troopers from the Fogelsville station used a fixed-winged plane Tuesday morning to observe and clock vehicles for speeding on the stretch of Interstate 78 that runs through Salisbury Township, according to a news release. Seven vehicles were clocked, resulting in traffic citations for speeding, including one motorist for driving at 91 mph, and another for driving with an expired license, police said. State police said they will continue with the periodic use of the program to cut down on aggressive driving and reduce accidents on I-78.

After state police pulled over Ramon Albert Almonte-Garcia, 31, of Reading, for speeding on I-78 in Salisbury Township, they discovered he was wanted in Puerto Rico on murder charges, according to The Morning Call. Almonte-Garcia was taken into custody Tuesday, the article said.
