A detailed report of possible UFOs seen over Sam's Club off Airport Road Sunday has been debunked as memorial sky lanterns rising from the adjacent Cedar Hill Memorial Park. The Morning Call reports that an anonymous caller said lanterns were released at a grave around 5 p.m. WFMZ has a photo of the strange orange lights and says a Slatington family sent up the lanterns in memory of a loved one who died Dec. 4, 2010. Patch readers added comments to the UFO story noting sightings of unusual lights in Hellertown, Emmaus and other towns in recent years. Three UFOs reported over Sam's Club on Airport Road Sunday evening
A report of possible UFOs above Sam's Club on Airport Road in Allentown on Sunday evening has been filed with the Mutual UFO Network, known as MUFON. Patch contributor and retired teacher John Royer is a member of MUFON and has offered 10 tips on what to do if you see an unidentified flying object. A detailed MUFON report on the Allentown Sam's Club incident says shoppers saw three objects traveling through the sky around 5:15 p.m. One man said his 9-year-old daughter was scared as the family observed orange-red flames at the bottom center of the objects. A ghost hunter's collection of items related to spirits, aliens and other strange creatures is featured at the new National Museum of Mysteries and Research Center in Columbia, Pa., near Lancaster. The collection belongs to Rick Fisher, a paranormal investigator who has delved into 1,000 alleged hauntings during the past 50 years. The museum is set to open in the basement level of a building at Third and Locust streets on Saturday, Oct. 15. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Fisher's collection includes toys and movie memorabilia from "Ghostbusters" and "E.T."
