ReplyI hope this is just one of those times that a young adult can be "non thinking". Hopefully he just got sidetracked and, having lived away from home is not thinking about checking in. These are the worst times for a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with this family for a positive result.

If memory serves, one of the trash men is deaf. Maybe all her rantings fell on deaf ears, although if he was alone, I guess not. We usually have two people in the truck.

I use the DD drive through. What happens inside that store? Maybe I should drop in and watch the antics. Oh, gee no, I seem to have better things to do.

I love this, word on the street, I get the phrase when people live closely together, but my imagine of North Drive is that the houses are all about an acre apart. I have 5 neighbors, but I could not tell you one word of gossip about any of them. Perhaps this lady is out and about on other streets.

ReplyMr. Linny, I beg to differ. I made no excuses for this woman. I simply pointed out that she is likely one of the many housewives that you hear about in reports such as on 60 minutes. There is an epidemic out there of woman trying to have it all and being unable to do so, turn to the drugs that alter their behaivior. Often times these drugs make a person aggressive and competitive, just like a man (it is called testosterone). In a man, this is normal behavior, in a woman it is not. I do not know this person, but if the reports from her neighbors are true, she is fortunate that she does not know me. As I give as good as I get, from a woman or a man. Hoping that she gets help is for the sake of her children. Growing up with a mother like that can be life altering. I assure you, I am not a female chauvinist. I have been happily married for 44 years, have raised 3 respectful sons and one daughter. I also prefer male dogs, so maybe you are right, I could be a chauvinist, LOL

ReplyJust another upstanding Hellertown citizen exercising his rights. These are the people who frighten me, Second amendment folks, what if he had a permit to carry a gun? Hopped up on heroin, drunk too boot and carrying a conceled weapon. Who is going to tell him to get off the trail, or get out of town? If Hellertown truly has a heroin problem then city council should address it and connect with an organization that can set up some sort of meetings or daily rehab in a local church basement.

ReplyReiss Bros. is a family owned business that has been around since our college days in 1969/70. We were thrilled to find out 22 years ago that they were still in business and serviced Saucon Valley. These people number in the nicest people we have met over the years. They never complain if you have a lot of stuff they willing will come an extra time to pick up large things. This woman is not a typical SV lady. I don't know where she is from, but I also do not know anyone in NY or NJ who act like that. I do, however, know someone in the Lehigh Valley who would probably, on a bad day, do something similar(minus the physical attack) I would venture to guess that this woman is one of those housewives, moms, working woman that you hear about in reports on 60 minutes. Taking some sort of drug to keep thin, or just to get through her day. I am ashamed to say she lives in my area, I am also ashamed that she is a woman. This kind of aggressive behavior usually comes from the male counterpart. I think she is on something that is making her aggressive, rude, totally out of touch with reality. I hope she gets help.

ReplyWE have an acre of land, but the house and drive take up a lot of it. Everything else is lawn or patio. I pay $65 per cut and then spring, fall cleanup, mulching, planting, tree removal is all determined by the job. We also have Tru Green feed and weed the lawn and spray the beds for weeds three times per season. I belive the cost of that is about $80 each time they come. I would say that other than our taxes this is the biggest expense we incure with a large property.

If kids are being hit by cars in alleys off of Main Street, 911 should be called and the incident noted wether there are injuries or not. This can all be considered collateral damage from the construction and gives residents that much more authenticity when voicing their concerns. No progress is worth a childs life.
