Coming Soon: Checkers in Allentown and Bethlehem

The Tampa-based fast food chain, which specializes in burgers, shakes and chicken wings, is planning to set up two locations in the Lehigh Valley.

Checkers, a Tampa based fast-food chain, plans to open locations this year in Allentown and Bethlehem, according to a report in The Morning Call. 

Checkers is part of a national chain of fast food restaurants and is the biggest double drive-thru food chain in the country. Checkers offers a selection of burgers, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches and hot dogs. 

The Morning Call report states that the Bethlehem location will open next week. The Allentown location is set for opening in August.

A report by Lehigh Valley Live said the Allentown Checkers will be located at Fourth Street and Emmaus Avenue. The Bethlehem location will be at the former Arby's at 2585 Easton Ave. Both will be operated by franchisee Jay Pandya.

In addition to burgers and shakes, Checkers features chicken wings that come in a variety of flavors. Milk shakes that come in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, as well as french fries that are seasoned and can be ordered with chili and cheese.
