Salisbury Doctor Faces N.J. Fraud Charges

Dr. John R. Manzella allegedly allowed fraudulent prescriptions to be written under his name, according to a published report.

A Salisbury Township doctor faces charges in New Jersey that he allegedly allowed painkiller prescriptions to be written in his name, according to a report in The Morning Call.

The report states that Dr. John Richard Manzella, 48, of Lehigh Parkway North, was charged in Sussex County, N.J court with conspiracy to commit unlawful practice of medicine and conspiracy to commit forgery.

Manzella was indicted on May 14, according to an article in the Times-News. He was released without bail and will be arraigned in New Jersey next week.

The Times-News article states Manzella has offices in Jim Thorpe and Palmerton.
